On top of the tweets from the likes of Harry Styles and Zayn Malik, we have one from Daily Mirror. This tweet concerned the story of a baby gorilla in a chinese zoo, whose name was to be determined by a public poll. Which name won the poll? Harambe McHarambeface. This is of course the result of internet pranksters getting a laugh from the harambe meme and the research ship the internet voted to be called Boaty McBoatface. Harambe refers to the name of the gorilla shot in Cincinnati after a four-year-old child fell into the enclosure.

By reporting the absurd news story so quickly to their followers on Twitter, Daily Mirror was able to produce one of the most engaging tweets this September. Timing is essential with real-time events like this, especially if you run a media profile. And don’t be worried to post too much if you’re a media profile, because that’s what people expect from you.
