The best performing profiles
This month’s most engaging posts came from Universal Pictures UK, Jeremy Corbyn, and Ride UK BMX. Universal Pictures UK posted a trailer for their film ‘Loving, ’ set to be released in February 2017. The film got nearly twice as much interactivity as the next best post. The controversial topic of the film was the likely cause of the success. The film is about an interracial couple in 1950’s America who are sentenced to prison for getting married. It’s an unfortunate and controversial part of American history, which also mirrors the social justice movement of homosexuals today, making it a timely topic for social media ripe for discussion.
The second best post came from Jeremy Corbyn, who posted a video directed at the Labour party focusing on the results of the Brexit referendum and its consequences. The video was low on actual insights, but it did well in rallying party members and enticing support on Facebook. The Labour party saw a massive increase in numbers after Brexit, and Corbyn was ready to leverage that on social media.
On a lighter note, the third most popular post came from Ride UK BMX, who posted a video of ‘extreme wheelbarrow guy.’ He does tricks with a wheelbarrow, and it’s both funny and awesome to see.
The most engaging profiles
This July, Leicester City Football Club was the most engaging profile, with 9% of their 521 thousand fans engaged. This was followed by Red Bull Racing with 8% of their nearly 497 thousand fans. In third place was Jeremy Corbyn with a whopping 62% engaged, which only amounted to 484 thousand users engaged. Brexit clearly incited action on social media, as we discovered in one of our recent analyses.
